"The other alternative is to buy a TW125 bottom end when one becomes available on ebay.de
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?
I can help you through the steps and rounding up parts...It's worth the effort.
There is nothing wrong with building from used parts, as long as they are checked for wear. I build them with used parts all the time. I wouldn't worry about finding them either, I have an extra top end so don't worry about finding that (or go here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2489304114&category=43981&sspagename=WDVW). ....the cranks rarely go bad unless they are super high mileage/km or have been run low on oil. I've seen many pulled apart and sold as parts(125's,'200'satv's) because the owners do not clean the oil filter every 1000km. There are very small oil passages in these motors and it doesn't take very much to block them. When this happens the crank is usually still good, It is the top end head that goes bad. Usually in the cam bearing on the chain side(a $15US part). I've also seen the rocker arm pads wear from the valves being out of adjustment.(too tight). If you feel uncomfortable doing the build, you could always take your motor and those new cases to a local shop and have them check & switch everything . Have them put a brand new piston in.
Take my word for it, it will be a lot easier going this route than finding a used motor in Japan, the only way that is going to happen is if you find a wrecked bike, and then be prepared to pay over $1000US plus shippage to get it back to France. These bikes cost over $3500US new so finding a motor less than 2 years old is going to cost you., and you still won't be assured of it's condition.
the Important part is now you have the building blocks to give to a mechanic and you have them for about $100 EURO, so If you were to put another $400 Euro in parts and labor you would still be ahead of the game.
the only way the Japan route may be worth it, is to import a whole grey TW225... then think of the registration headaches.
you'll have to use your best judgment, If you decide to do it yourself, I can help with procedure instruction."
