Tien ça me rappel quelques chose...

sorry....I have a problem with my choke, when the cable is pulled it does not come out further than 1/3 of the way.  I have the tried releasing the bolt on the carbureator to remove the cable but it the bar that sits inside will not come out, looking at the pictures on the this site it seems bar  should just slide out with out too much effort (TW125)

Anonyme

yes its the starter cable, how do you dismantle the plounger , i think that is the part that is stuck inside the carburateur

TWin

Humm...sorry I can't explain it exactly with the right words so I invite you to log in and go to the downloads section "telechargement". There under "manuels" you'll find a usefull file with explainations.  ;-)

The plunger is thus well seized up... : - ( You can try to make soak the carbu in 'Oil', or to heat the carbu with a gun with hot air. In last way  cuts the cable and draws strong top... Best is to await Patouch, to know how it made. : -)

TWin

I think you'll have to unscrew the whole thing and then spry some unjammer inside the hole.
Otherwise it would mean, you'd have to dismount the carb and the choke-cable in order to unjamm it from the inside. I dunno, but it might help !

Lemmy

(How do i get in contact with Patouch? Thank you for your help.)

Send him a PM. You'll find him in the members list ( = membres).

Did you strip the choke device down yet ?
Black Sheep

TWin

You might send him an MP (personal message).
Just go to the members section, type "Patouch" and then click MP.
Otherwise, he might come on the forum perhaps this evening in any case.

(All I have done is what is depicted in the picture with the exception that the plunger did not come out, I'm afraid I don't know that much about the bike yet)

You didn't get the plunger out or the plunger can't come out ?
Black Sheep

Lemmy

(The plunger can't come out, I have used a small bit of force but don't want to pull too hard for fear or damaging it)

In my opinion, you should dismantle the whole carburettor and clean it carefully. Then you'll check if there's anything wrong with it (lost or broken parts). The plunger is maybe seizing up.

What is your bike's model ? Removing the carburettor is quite easy to do. Follow the procedure that is described there  : {dismantle & clean the carburettor}
and if you can't translate nor understand, ask me.

I had to go back to work and didnt have time to look at the problem myself so I took it to a local shope and got it fixed...he took the carb apart and released the plunger.

I assume the plunger was seized up, right ?

no he managed to free it, the plunger is still in good condition?! The cable does need to be replaced soon enough, but that was probably the damage i did trying to remove it

salut lemmy ,
